Looking back over the reviews we've done in the past almost two years has made us realize a few things (like we use WAY too many parentheticals!). One of the main things we've realized is that a few of the ratings we've given to the places we've reviewed could use some adjusting in hindsight.
Looking back over the reviews we've done in the past almost two years has made us realize a few things (like we use WAY too many parentheticals!). One of the main things we've realized is that a few of the ratings we've given to the places we've reviewed could use some adjusting in hindsight.

For instance, Alligator Cafe, to whom we gave a 3 gavel rating in our second review, should really get 4 1/2 gavels. We've been back there several times since, and it's food is consistently great, the ingredients are always fresh and the people behind the counter are really nice and friendly.

Amuse
, to whom we gave 2 3/4 gavels back in April, really deserves 3 1/2 gavels based on its creative dishes, even though the food is still a little bland (although we've heard dinners there are better).

On the opposite end, the more we think about it, the more we don't like Kona Grill, to whom we just gave a 2 gavel rating. The only thing the place has going for it is decent atmosphere and that's really more due to its location in Northpark than it is a credit to the place itself. Right now, we'd give it 1 1/2 gavels but check with us in a few weeks and it might be below 1.
